We had a so-called girlfriend connection since high school. We sat together in class (in form 5), we were fellow librarians, sang in the school choir, acted in school dramas, danced and even strutted the improvised "catwalk" as "models" on stage in the school hall! She was an absolutely sweet and down to earth person. We parted ways after high school. Each of us went on to raise our own families, thousands of miles apart. It was only a few years back that we finally got to meet up in Penang. Warm hugs said plenty, where words could not! I'm grateful that we managed to connect briefly on social media for the past 3 years. I admired her strength in the face of adversity.
